While it was rumored that Morrison wrapped the car around a telephone pole in West Hollywood, California, researchers have been trying to find the car since it went missing, with little luck.

While McQueen was a car collector, sadly he never got to own the Mustang that made him famous. There were two stunt cars used in Bullitt, one was totaled and the other was sold in the 1970s. Despite McQueen’s efforts to try and buy the vehicle from the owner, he was never able to own it. Years later, the car from Bullitt was found in a Mexican scrap yard.
