Just how much impact has this film had? Well, in 2001 and 2008-09 Ford released the Bullitt Mustang GT in homage to the film. While McQueen was a car collector, sadly he never got to own the Mustang that made him famous. There were two stunt cars used in Bullitt, one was totaled and the other was sold in the 1970s. Despite McQueen’s efforts to try and buy the vehicle from the owner, he was never able to own it. Years later, the car from Bullitt was found in a Mexican scrap yard. Don’t worry, the Bullitt was rescued and restored back to its former glory.

Also, on February 10, 2017, die-hard New England Patriots fan Conan along with Ford gave James White of the New England Patriots a new Ford F-150.
